# **We Care.**
It's a value that is embodied by Ascend employees and portrayed by the ways we serve our communities. The words sound feeble by themselves, but when hundreds of employees are dedicated to upholding this value the simple words become a profound impact.
When tornadoes ripped through Decatur, Alabama in April of 2011, some employees lost everything. In their worst moments though, their colleagues rallied around them, ready to help pick up the pieces. These employees and their selfless actions became the catalyst for Ascend Cares, kickstarting over a decade of service and hands-on work in our local communities that makes a difference in the lives of others.
## Donate to Ascend Cares:
In 2025, we invested over $521,000 into our communities and the lives of our neighbors, employees and families.

### Arms Wide

In Houston, our volunteers have partnered with Arms Wide, an adoption agency that aims to find forever, loving homes for children.
### Escambia Westgate Center

- In Pensacola, our volunteers support multiple events with Westgate, a local school for students who face various learning challenges.
### Yellowstone
***Education***
In the following years, our volunteers have continued to support the class and organize events and projects for the students to support their educational goals.
### Impact A Hero
***Military***
- Ascend Cares volunteers partner with Impact A Hero to aid in organizing fundraisers and prepare for events, an organization that serves to make a positive impact in the lives of veterans, active service members and their families.
### Kids Meals
***Hunger***
- Our teams regularly drop by Kids Meals, an organization that makes and delivers free, healthy meals to kids in need, to help pack and prepare meals for local children.
### The Women's Home
***Housing***
Since 2021, volunteers at our Houston office have been partnering with the organization to sponsor client graduations, provide backpacks to the children who live at the home, donate gifts for the families during the holidays and more.
### Sleep in Heavenly Peace
***Housing***
In Decatur, Alabama, our volunteers have partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that believes each child deserves a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads.
### Wreaths Across America
***Military***
Multiple Ascend sites partner with Wreaths Across America, an organization that honors the men and women who have lost their lives while protecting our country. Each year, our sites join hundreds of other organizations in donating wreaths to lay on the graves of our veterans.
